Uncle

Last week was kind of hectic. First, my family and I decided that we skipped the get-together at my aunt's house so that we could avoid unnecessary trouble at her house. Unfortunately, I went to watch a movie with a friend last weekend and eventually bumped into my cousin. So, there you go! One lie was exposed. I don't care.

And then we heard the news that my uncle was hospitalized because of his uncontrolled diabetes. We went to the hospital to pay him a visit which as of now still in the hospital. He got his left toe cut off because afraid that the wound worsened. At first, the doctor in charge wanted to cut out half of his foot to prevent the damage from spreading. We were all devastated to hear the news. Certainly to me, cutting out half of his foot won't stop his diabetes. I'm positively sure that there's got to be a way rather remove half of his foot. I feel sorry my uncle. Never thought that he was ever going to face such obstacles such as this one. His blood pressure is running high. But he remains adamant that he was alright with the situation. But looking at him, spacing out amidst the serious talks about his condition-he was a bit petrified to hear the news.

Eventually, he was brought to the operation theater for the removal of half of his foot (or so we think) I pray that the doctor would find out that the surgery was not needed at all. However, the team of doctors did do a surgery on his foot but only removed his near necrosis toe. Which was a good to all of us since he did not have to suffer for having a half foot for the rest of his life any longer. So today my family and I went to visit him and his wife was there too taking care of him, I see him never happier before. Talking endlessly about starting a business and such. He was back to his normal self again. Hungrier than before although he has to watch out what he was eating. Nevertheless, he was happy and so are we.

I
was intrigued by my aunt's dedication while my uncle was hospitalized, bed ridden for awhile. Despite allegations from my another Sour grape Aunt claiming that my aunt is irresponsible, annoying, have no regard of my uncle's condition and all that nonsense. My aunt was actually a responsible wife. Took care of all of his needs. Patiently sat by his side day and night. So, does that makes her an irresponsible, opportunist wife? I think not. No one would ever took care of my uncle better than his own wife. Besides I don't think that Sour grape Aunt of mine would really like to look after her own brother in the hospital herself.

Although my uncle is still in the hospital. Not knowing the outcome for tomorrow (the doctor told that they still have to look at the other bruised toe), I was very happy that my uncle has got his spirit relinquished and his wife has helped him through his condition with a smile.
